Ron knew he needed a significant amount of complex dental care, including dental implants, but had been putting off treatment because he had not found the right dentist. One morning, Rod was watching KTLA Morning News (Los Angeles’ highest rated news broadcast show) and viewed a segment featuring the work by Sam Muslin, D.D.D., M.A.G.D. The field reporter, Gail Anderson, was covering the dentist live and showed before and after photos of his work. Ron’s Story
Ron’s family greatly encouraged him to get dental treatment. Ron had "let himself go" and had been in need of complex dental care for years. He knew he needed a dentist with experience in complex reconstructive and implant dentistry, and was very grateful he got to see Dr. Muslin on KTLA and decided to see this dentist personally. He was so happy with the visit that he moved forward with care.
Missing Teeth & Dental Implants
Dental implants are an excellent choice of treatment to replace missing teeth. Dental implants don’t decay, are not hot and cold sensitive and work exceptionally well. Some patients, however, don not have enough jawbone to have a full set of teeth with dental implants. In this case, a few implants can be used to stabilize a denture. The dentures "snap" onto the dental implants and provide greater comfort and confidence. It is a life changing experience that affects the eating ability and the health of these patients.
Gum Disease & Dental Implants
Gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss. In fact, more teeth are lost from gum disease than tooth decay! Once the teeth are lost from gum disease, these patients generally have little bone remaining. It is important to get the gum disease treated as soon as possible to preserve the jawbone. If the patient has sufficient bone remaining, dental implants can be used to restore the missing teeth.
Porcelain Bridges
Fixed dental bridges are another option to replace missing teeth. Porcelain bridges are strong and stable, and have been known to last for over 30 years and function perfectly well. The patient doesn’t even notice they are missing teeth. In some cases, teeth can be replaced with a combination of fixed bridges and dental implants to get the best possible care.
